Information about the Simpsons.Bat:

Simpson.BAT is windows based trojan infecting only Windows 95 and Window 98 systems. The trojan comes as Simpsons.exe - a WinZIP self extracting file. On executing the infected file, the following files are extracted:

Simpsons.bat
Simpsons.bmp

Simpsons.bat is automatically run after the extraction. This file deletes the files and folders found in all the the drives using deltree command. This trojan does not infect Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems as they do not have the deltree command. The simpsons.bmp is a compressed file containing the following files.

ReadMe.txt
file_id.diz
sample.exe

Simspons.Bat first appeared in June 2000.
