MYBABYPIC.A Worm

 Information about the MYBABYPIC.A worm:

MYBABYPIC.A is an email worm. This worm will infect Windows 98 and Windows 2000 systems. Windows 95 and Windows NT users also can be affected if the Visual Basic scripting is enabled.

The worm arrives with the subject:

My baby pic!!!

The body of the message reads:

Its my animated baby picture!!!

Infected email carries an attachment called MYBABYPIC.EXE. When the attachment is executed it displays a picture of a child. On closing this, it drops itself into WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory in various names. It also modifies Registry entries at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bugger

Due to this registry modification, worm will be loaded during next windows startup. After this the worm emails itself to everyone in Microsoft Outlook address book. Sometimes this worm also overwrites files with certain extensions.
