W32/PetLil Worm
W32/PetLil is an email worm. This worm
will infect Windows systems. It spreads using the email addresses present
in Microsoft Outlook address book. XXX Picture...  The worm copies itself to root of C: drive as XXXPic.exe. The worm searches for files with following extensions .vbs, .htm, .doc, .xls, .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .pdf or .js under Windows and Windows System folder. If found, it copies itself as an .exe file. After this, the worm uses Microsoft Outlook address book to propagate itself. The worm creates registry entries at the following location. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
This worm is also known as W32/PetLil, WORM_PETLIL.A, W32.Pet_Ticky.B, W32/PetLil.A.
